Button Bakery is a charming South Evanston neighborhood bakery built around handcrafted breads, pastries, Bavarian pretzels, sandwiches, focaccia, and stone-deck pizzas. Founded by Oran Rankin and Sara Rathbun, the bakery emphasizes traditional breadmaking, natural sourdough fermentation, fresh daily baking, and an affordable, community focused approach. What makes Button Bakery stand out is its combination of old fashioned artisan baking and neighborhood warmth. From sourdough, challah, rye and cranberry walnut bread to cinnamon rolls, scones, cookies, pretzels and evening pizzas, it offers something for both a quick morning stop and a savory meal. Button Bakery is a welcoming Evanston gem where beautifully crafted breads, pastries, pretzels and pizzas bring a genuine neighborhood bakery feel to Main Street.

A cute little shop for baked goods in Evanston! Button Bakery has a nice variety of fairly affordable sweets and fresh bread, and they also serve pizza. I really recommend their soft Bavarian pretzels, the congo bar, the cinnamon raisin bread pudding, and the cheddar chive buttermilk biscuit. Everything in this bakery tastes great, and it is super homey inside. Check it out for your next bakery visit in Evanston!

If I could give Button Bakery 10 stars, I would!!!! The wife and I went, two days in a row, to get the same things that we initially had, the Bavarian Pretzel and the Caramel Almond Bread Pudding and they were out of this world! Everything here looks great, they do all kinds of great stuff and even Pizza too! Open Tuesday through Saturday! The Prices are phenomenal, the staff is incredibly friendly and this is certainly one of the best places I've been to in a long, long while! Button Bakery is truly, the bee's knees!

The sourdough is perfection! I am not a fan of bread pudding but their almond caramel bread pudding is a weekly treat for me now. I have never had a bad experience with staff like someone mentioned earlier-they’ve always been pleasant. I have not tried the other bread but my husband has and said the cranberry loaf and focaccia was 10/10. Give it a try!

Button Bakery is a welcome addition to the bakery scene in Evanston. The cinnamon roll with raisins is delicious. So are all of the muffins and scones especially the ones with cranberries or pecans. For something savory, don’t miss out on the Bavarian pretzels and focaccia. Prices are very affordable and the staff is lovely. Highly recommended.
